More about my campaign work

I've been involved in impactful campaigning on climate, housing, Aboriginal cultural heritage, and other issues. I'm interested in building campaigns that subvert familiar narratives and are designed to win.

In 2021, I spent a year working as a full-time mobiliser for Extinction Rebellion Western Australia. I was part of a team that engaged with thousands of Western Australians demanding real action on the climate crisis. I supported the formation of autonomous local groups throughout the state. My time in XR gave me a sense of what it takes to build a community united around a cause.

Since then, I've worked in various roles with campaigns including Save Our Songlines, Disrupt Burrup Hub, Stop Evicting Families, and more. I've developed skills in building strategy, using mainstream media to tell stories, and connecting with supporters online.

In 2022, I worked under the guidance of Traditional Custodians to support Save Our Songlines, a community campaign against industrial development at Murujuga on the Burrup Peninsula. I assisted Custodians to secure investigations under federal heritage laws into threats to culture. I mobilised and supported community members and the broader public to make submissions into these investigations. Save Our Songlines published an open letter from Murujuga elders and custodians calling for an end to industrial development on the Burrup. I also helped to plan the largest cultural heritage protest ever held at Murujuga, the Burrup Peninsula:

Throughout 2023, I was instrumental in developing a strategy for Disrupt Burrup Hub, a direct action campaign built around principles of escalation and innovation. Disrupt Burrup Hub gained national and international media attention and created massive scrutiny of Woodside's gas developments. My work with Disrupt Burrup Hub has been covered by the ABC, the BBCThe Guardian6PRCrikeySydney Criminal Lawyers, and RTRFM.

I've built and maintained websites for organisations including Friends of Australian Rock Art, Save Our Songlines and Stop Evicting Families.

Progressive movements need to find new strategies, tactics, and aesthetics to meet the challenges of the decades ahead. I'm driven to find innovative ideas and implement them in real-life campaigns.
